Phrases you can try
You can acknowledge a point and still disagree. These are starting points to adapt, not a script you must follow:
- “I see your point. My concern is…” — acknowledge the idea, then explain a specific concern.
- “I see it differently because…” — state your view and give a short reason.
- “Could we consider another approach?” — invite an alternative when you want to suggest one.
Your relationship, the situation, and how direct you want to be all matter. The goal is to express your view respectfully, not to win every disagreement.
Conversation prompt
Help me practice disagreeing politely in English through a simple role-play. When Voice mode starts, briefly say what we'll practice. Choose a simple everyday situation with a friend or colleague, explain our roles, and start the conversation. I can choose a different situation if I want. Stay in character, use short natural replies, and give me time to respond. We can have different opinions without becoming hostile. If I get stuck, offer one useful phrase and continue. After a short exchange, step out of character, give me one quick suggestion, and ask whether I'd like to try again or practice another situation. Avoid lectures, background questionnaires, numbered stages, and corrections after every sentence. When I say "Let's finish," end the role-play and give a short recap with one useful phrase from our practice. Do not invent progress or promise how a real person would respond. Use fictional details and do not ask for private information. For your first response, reply only: "OK. Start Voice mode and let's begin." Do not ask the first practice question until Voice mode starts.
